Pastoral staff

  • Jason McGarr

    Senior Pastor

    Bro. Jason McGarr is an licensed minister with the United Pentecostal Church International and the founding pastor of Christ Point Apostolic Church. He is a graduate of Liberty University with an AA in Business Management and Indiana Bible College with a BA in Biblical Studies. He served in various capacities while youth pastoring with his wife at his home church in Brazil, IN until 2009. He then served in the CT Young Ministers at Calvary Tabernacle in Indianapolis, IN until moving to Milledgeville, GA in 2015 to start Christ Point. He served as a GA District Sectional Youth Director for three years, and now serves on the GA District North American Missions Board as a Sectional Director, collaborating to start new churches in Georgia.

  • Joy McGarr

    Assistant Pastor

    Sis. Joy McGarr is a licensed minister with the United Pentecostal Church International, the pastor's wife and assistant pastor of Christ Point Apostolic Church. She is a graduate of Indiana Bible College with a BA in Biblical Studies and Liberty University with a MA in Professional Counseling and is a certified Life Coach. She evangelized for several years out of her home church in Indianapolis, IN. After Bible college she youth pastored with her husband In Brazil, IN. After returning to Calvary Tabernacle in 2009 she served in the CT Young Ministers until moving to Milledgeville, GA in 2015 to start Christ Point with her husband. She currently serves as a GA District Sectional Ladies Director. She is also an accomplished singer.

  • Cheryl Jessie

    Hospitality Director

    Sis. Cheryl Jessie is the Hospitality Director of Christ Point Apostolic Church. She served in the United States Army and also served as administrative assistant for the U.S. Army Training Center, as well as U.S. Postal Service Clerk. She was certified with the American Association of Medical Assistants through Lanier Technical College. She is a graduate of Liberty University with a BA in Religion with a minor in Biblical Studies. She was also Certified as a Hospitality Supervisor with the American Hotels / Motels Commission. Sis. Cheryl has mentored with the Barrow County school system, was a teaching assistant at Clarke County Alternative School, and has co-coordinated a community health fair at Barrow Regional Hospital. She has been a Sunday School teacher and Director and involved in Puppet Ministry, Jail Ministry, Outreach, Home Bible Studies, Ladies Mentoring Team, and Hospitality / Banquets Director.

  • Kate Turley

    Children's Ministry Director

    Sis. Kate Turley is the Children's Ministry Director of Christ Point Apostolic Church. She is a graduate of Butler University with a BA in Early/Middle Childhood Education. She holds a Georgia Teaching License for Grades PreK-5, with a PreK-5 certification in Special Education, and a PreK-12 certification in Reading. She recently earned her MA in Education Administration and Supervision, through Liberty University. She taught for several years in Indiana before relocating to Milledgeville, GA in 2017, by reason of feeling a burden for North American Missions (NAM). She has a passion for ministry and serves in various capacities at Christ Point. She is currently teaching in Jones County and enjoys working with children of all ages.
